Dubai, UAE, 2005. A Russian woman killed her Swiss boyfriend by stabbing him in the neck when he demanded sex, police sources said. The incident took place at about 3am on Monday morning at a flat in Dubai, where the two lived together.
"The 20-year-old Russian girl told her housemaid somebody had come into the flat and attacked the 45-year-old Swiss man. The housemaid informed the building's security who informed the police," a source from Dubai police told Gulf News yesterday. He added initially the Russian woman denied stabbing her boyfriend and said she did not know how he suffered the injury to his neck.
"After questioning and investigation, she admitted she was the one who had stabbed him. She said they had a fight and she had been very upset. At that time, he demanded sex from her, and she did not want it. She said he tried to force her and thus she stabbed him in the neck with a knife. She said she did not want to attack him or harm him. She was just trying to avoid giving him the services he was demanding," the source said. He added when she stabbed him with the knife, he fell to the floor and started bleeding.
"She said he was bleeding a lot, and died within minutes. She said she was tense and did not know what to do with his body. She called her maid and lied and said someone else had attacked him," the source said. He said the case was now with the public prosecution department. The man's body is at the Dubai police morgue.
"The deceased had dual citizenship. He was a German national but was residing in the UAE using his Swiss passport. He was in his early forties. I am not sure if he had any family in Dubai or the UAE. We believe he was a businessman, but we are not sure of his occupation. The maid found him early Monday morning. She informed the police who started their investigations," a diplomatic source said.
Gulf News called up the Swiss Consulate for further information, but officials declined to comment.
