Russian police dismantled another international romance scam ring

Yoshkar-Ola, Russia, 2002. The Russian police dismantled another international romance scam ring that siphoned money from American, Canadian and Austrian victims. Several complaints sent by foreign citizens were received by the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation. The victims informed that they had been in correspondence with Russian females over the Internet. The women supposedly wanted to marry foreigners abroad and asked duped by love victims to send them considerable sums of money via Western Union to cover their travel expenses. After collecting remitments, virtual "brides" disappeared.

Irishman Drugged, Robbed During Attempted One-Night Stand in Moscow

Moscow, Russia, 2015. An Irishman was drugged and robbed of about $12,000 worth of cash, jewelry and other belongings by a woman he met at a Moscow nightclub, state news agency RIA Novosti reported. The victim identified himself as an English teacher and translator, a police source told the news agency, adding that the woman, 30, has been detained.

Russian woman killed her Swiss boyfriend when he demanded sex

Dubai, UAE, 2005. A Russian woman killed her Swiss boyfriend by stabbing him in the neck when he demanded sex, police sources said. The incident took place at about 3am on Monday morning at a flat in Dubai, where the two lived together.

One of them, Edward James Dunn (73) from London, was spotted with handbags in the early April morning at a post-office in Volzhsk.
