Prosecutor: accused 'Kayak Killer' pushed paddle away from drowning fiance

New York, USA, 2015. A New York woman accused of killing her fiance over $250,000 in life insurance pushed a paddle away from him as he struggled to stay alive after his kayak capsized in the icy waters of the Hudson River, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Angelika Graswald (née Lipskaya), 35, was charged with second-degree murder two weeks after her fiance, Vincent Viafore, 46, went missing April 19. Witnesses said she intentionally tipped her kayak over after Viafore’s went down. Graswald was rescued by another boater and treated for hypothermia. Viafore’s body was found by a fisherman Saturday.

A Finnish citizen was caught by ex-MMA heavyweight fighter Viacheslav Datsik and his mates in a brothel in Saint Petersburg


Saint Petersburg, Russia, 2016. On the night of May 18th a group of local activists led by ex-MMA heavyweight fighter Viacheslav Datsik (36) broke in one of the city brothels located in Vasileostrovsky district. They came in with video cameras to film what was going on inside in order to expose the illegal activity with which, as they state, they are fed up.

A Syrian national was robbed by two Russian women

Krasnoyarsk, Russia, 2014. A Syrian national (35) became the victim of theft in May, 2014. He came up to a police station in a centric area of Krasnoyarsk to file a complaint. The man told that he had met two local women, aged 26 and 28, some time ago.

Colona native in Russia fighting for custody of his kids


Colona native Robert Lack was an active U.S. Marine from 1990 to 2010. He is a decorated naval aviator and served as an anti-terrorism officer for the Presidential Helicopter Squadron and the National Capital Region Command at Quantico, Va. He is a United Township High School, Black Hawk College and Augustana College graduate. His Quad-Cities' roots run deep. His mother, five brothers and two sisters live locally.

German retiree 'fed to dog' by Russian wife in Mallorca


A Russian newlywed slowly butchered her German husband — feeding strips of his flesh to their dog until he took his last breath. Svetlana Batukova, 46, is accused of the drug-fueled weekend slaying of Horst Hans Henkels, 66, at their posh home in Spain, according to The Local. Batukova, who regularly posted pictures online of herself cuddling her Staffordshire bull terrier, stabbed Henkels with a kitchen knife last Friday, police said. As he lay bleeding out on the floor, she carved off slices of his arm down to the bone and hand-fed them to her beloved dog, authorities said.
